To keep factory manufacturing cost effective, commercial beauty brands typically dilute their products with 60% to 80% water. Because water grows bacteria, they must add synthetic chemical stabilizers, silicones and heavy artificial preservatives just to allow the product to sit on a warehouse shelf for long periods.
